OOAK Mixed Media Curio Cabinet
This cabinet came about out of necessity and because I had most of the materials on hand. I had just moved and needed a cabinet for all my nick knacks and cuiros. Digging around the studio, [The owner of the building was a pack rat. He'd pick up stuff he found and stashed it away thinking it would be useful some day.] I found the legs and stainless steel perforated sheet metal. Then one day I was going through a box of computer mother boards of mine. My studio mate Bert remarked how every artist has a box of mother boards that they are going to do something, someday with. And I was like,"Challenge accepted." At that point it all congealed and the idea was born. Later, when I was finished Bert said it was more like a sculpture than cabinet. And I said yes this is the kind of work I want to do, now you're getting it.
